Today’s the first day of December, the last month of the year. I know I haven’t been posting recently due to Thanksgiving break (where I traveled to the city of Montréal to visit a lovely person) and the nearing of the end of the semester, but I hope to write some new posts in the coming weeks, so bear with me. I have some ideas for new posts in the event that nothing exciting happens to me that is post-worthy, so there should be hopefully a steady stream of new thoughts coming from me as time goes on. My main goal is to post at least once a week on the blog about whatever I discover on the internet or come across in my daily life during classes, clubs and seminars I attend. The coming of Winter Break should allow me some more time to post more frequently…keyword ”should’.’
In two weeks I’ll be done with my first semester at University, and it’s certainly been quite the experience. I don’t really consider myself any wiser, or even more mature, but I’ve definitely learned things from the moment I stepped onto campus. It’s amazing how fast time goes by when you spend most of your days in the same environment, but it’s really allowed me to explore my interests and my plans (perhaps a little to much) for the upcoming months. I’ll be 1/8th of the way done with my University years after this semester is over, which seems really quick. My adviser once said that these four years will go by so quickly that it will leave you wondering where did all the time go. It’s a scary thought, because I definitely feel that way, and while now I’ve learned many things, in terms of book-smarts and street-smarts, there’s still a part of me that believes that not much has sunk in. But I’m sure on reflection I’ll realize that I really did pick up a lot in three months. And eventually I’ll be thrown in to the real world, because University is definitely still a sheltered zone free from any outside troubles and news, certainly in isolated Ithaca, NY.
But for now, I will not think too much about the future and be happy with where I am in the present. Just got to take one day at a time and put my heart and mind into each and every thing I do…and there’s certainly a lot I could be doing. Anyway, I just wanted to pots an update to just say that I am not leaving this blog to die, I fully intend to keep posting for the foreseeable future. If you want, you can follow my Twitter as confirmation that I am still alive. I suppose there are things I post and retweet (RT) on there that are somewhat worthy of at least being mentioned on this blog, so there might be some redundancies (probably with some elaboration and ranting added). Twitter is certainly a nice way to find post ideas, helps keep me up-to-date with things that interest me. Any post ideas are welcome though, I can never have too many ideas of what to post.
